Spring Snapshots from CulturaGo HQ: Campus Tours, Conferences, and Culture in Action
May 19, 2025
This spring has been full of momentum, meaning, and moments that reminded us why intercultural learning matters more than ever. At CulturaGo, it’s been a season of travel, connection, and celebrating what’s possible when education crosses borders.
Our CEO, Liam Kelly and Head of Education, Marcello Francioni traveled across the North America for university visits, connecting with students and faculty to explore new partnerships and deepen existing ones. They even made time to take in the stunning power of Niagara Falls, which lived up to every cinematic expectation.
Next on the itinerary was the Forum on Education Abroad’s Annual Conference in Toronto, where CulturaGo joined some of the most passionate minds in the field to discuss the evolving role of intercultural learning. From the buzz in breakout rooms to the conversations in hallways, it was clear that meaningful, student-centered global learning is more important than ever
Liam led a data-driven discussion on strategies to ensure students gain the highest ROI from international experiences, particularly in power skills and intercultural competence development linked to career readiness. He was joined onstage by Mariam Raza, Ed.D., of Conestoga College, University of Michigan’s Miranda Roberts, and Alexis Wren from Costa Rica Global Learning Programs.
CulturaGo was named a finalist with The Global ROI Assessment in the InnovatEA pitch competition, in recognition of our efforts to meaningfully measure the impact of international learning. This was the result of years of development, testing, and iteration, and we were thrilled to officially launch The Power Skills Accelerator this spring. It’s CulturaGo’s leap forward in transforming how we develop, measure (via The Global ROI Assessment), and showcase the career ROI of global education.
Whether a student is heading abroad, arriving as an international student, participating in a virtual program, or engaging in a local experience, The Power Skills Accelerator turns these pivotal moments into career-defining growth.
After the event, Liam sat down with The PIE News to share about the impact The Global ROI Assessment on the college to career journey. Read what he had to say here.
We also proudly supported the World Council on Global and Intercultural Competence Annual Global Forum event, which featured pre-eminent leaders in the field Dr. Dara Deardorff and Dr. Fanta Aw, UNESCO leadership, and scholar practitioners from around the globe to discuss some of the sectors most pressing issues, as well as solutions to address them with courage and conviction.
Looking ahead, we’re preparing for the NAFSA 2025 Annual Conference and Expo in San Diego. And we’re excited to showcase new developments and reconnect with colleagues across the field.
To everyone who shared ideas, energy, or inspiration with us this spring, we thank you. This season has reminded us why we do what we do and how powerful community can be when it's built across borders.
See you in San Diego,
Team CulturaGo
