What Is the Power Skills Accelerator?
The Power Skills Accelerator at NYU is an online, modular training and assessment experience designed to help NYU students build and measure career-critical intercultural skills before and after their global learning experience abroad, on campus or virtually.
Designed for integration before, during, or after global learning - whether abroad, on campus, or online - The Power Skills Accelerator includes three key components:
Start with a The Global ROI Assessment
Get a baseline of your power skills before your global experience. This short, online assessment uses a mix of multiple-choice and open-ended video questions to simulate a job interview and test the top 10 in-demand career skills, such as leadership, resilience and communication.
Build Career-Ready Intercultural Skills
Measure how your global experience has shaped your career-critical power skills. At the end of their global program, a second round of assessment with updated prompts will guide to demonstrate growth and articulate academic and professional application of the 10 target skills.
Measure Growth after the Global Experience
Measure how your global experience has shaped your career-critical power skills.
Following their global program, students complete a second, job interview–style assessment with updated prompts. They’ll demonstrate growth in cultural awareness, adaptability, and global communication - and articulate how those skills apply to academic and professional goals.
