Here you will learn about the UK’s geography and history, about its constituent countries—Northern Ireland, Wales, Scotland and England—and its regional identities, but also about the languages spoken throughout the country. You will also find a useful section on the most common dos and don’ts to help you get more familiar with the British way of life.

 

Living in the UK

This module will help you better understand the people who call the UK home. You will learn about many things that may directly influence your friends, fellow students, professors, and possibly co-workers—like the unpredictable UK weather, commonly held attitudes, and how to most effectively communicate.

Thriving as a Student in the UK

This next section is fully dedicated to students arriving to study in the UK. Find tips and advice on how to best navigate student-professor interactions and meet other students who share your passions and interests. Get a better understanding of what UK universities do to support students’ academic success and overall wellbeing, and get practical tips that will help you to succeed on the job market after you graduate.

Understanding Social Dynamics and Cultural Perspectives in the UK

Meet Natalie Dunne, your UK course guide

Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Natalie became a British citizen at the age of three and spent her childhood in the vibrant city of Bristol. Attending an international school with classmates from around the world sparked her lifelong fascination with culture. Driven by her curiosity and ambition, she moved to cosmopolitan London to pursue a degree in Mathematics. Today, Natalie works as an actress on stage and screen, where she embraces diverse stories and perspectives. She believes that Britain’s rich and varied culture is what makes it truly special, and she’s excited to share her insights with you through this course.
