CulturaGo Grant Summer ‘24: Making Cultural Preparation Accessible

CulturaGo is pleased to announce that our Summer Grant 2024 is now open for applications. Off the back of the success of last year's Grant program, we are awarding 10 institutions and/or companies the opportunity to offer our online intercultural and inter-identity courses during the upcoming Summer period, as well as leading up to the start of the new academic year.

CulturaGo exists to share the power of intercultural and inter-identity skills with the world.

By honing these skills, students cultivate career-critical and sought-after abilities that ensure their success, extending beyond their international education but also as they enter the world of work.

This is achieved through our suite of destination-specific cultural preparation courses and CulturaSkills, the world’s most compact intercultural and inter-identity training course.

As part of our commitment to making these resources available to a wider range of students, and working with like-minded parties who believe that intercultural and inter-identity skills are the keys to successful international education experiences, we have launched the second iteration of our Summer Grant: The CulturaGo Summer Grant 2024.

We invite institutions and organizations involved in international education to apply for our Grant, the recipients of which will be able to offer their students free access to all CulturaGo courses for a limited amount of time.

*For full-time degree-seeking students only.

What is included? 

The 10 institutions or organizations that will be selected to partner with us through the CulturaGo Summer Grant 2024, will receive: 

• Up to 1000 logins (valued at $40,000.00) to the CulturaGo platform, which includes 5 destination-specific cultural preparation courses and CulturaSkills.
• Logins are available for students departing on short-term programs between March 31 to July 31, 2024, and for those arriving inbound for full-time degree programs starting between March 31 and September 30, 2024.
• Once the login is redeemed, students will have lifetime access to the CulturaGo platform.
• Supporting content and material used to seamlessly integrate the courses into your programs and courses. 
• Insight into the learner's experience and impact of the CulturaGo courses. 
• Each learner will receive a completion certificate upon successful completion of the course. 

Who should apply?

CulturaGo welcomes applications from a wide range of higher education and international education institutions, companies and nonprofits, worldwide that facilitate or promote short and/or long-term (e.g. full degree) international experiences, including, but not limited to: 

• State Universities
• Minority-serving colleges and universities (MSIs)
• Liberal Arts Colleges 
• Community Colleges 
• Consortiums 
• Nonprofit companies 
• Private Colleges and Universities
• Private companies, e.g. Study Abroad providers, Internship Organizations, etc. 

While we are accept applications from representatives of any department, these are some of those that we highly recommend apply: 

• International Offices 
• Global Learning Teams
• Student Mobility Departments
• Study Abroad Department 
• Career Services Offices
• DEI Offices  
• Member of leadership teams at international education companies

We are looking for applications from passionate members of institutions or organizations within these categories that understand and value the power of intercultural learning and want to support their students or participants but do not currently have the capacity or resources to meet their needs in regards to formalized, online intercultural and inter-identity skill development.

Note that if an institution or organization is currently a paying Partner of CulturaGo or has previously been one, they will not be eligible to apply.

Judging Criteria:

CulturaGo, along with multiple independent judges from the international education community, will be selecting the grantees based on:

• The applicant's ability to demonstrate their commitment to widening the intercultural and inter-identity skill development efforts of the institutions and organizations they represent, for the benefit of their students and program participants.
• The applicants’ ability to describe the methods through which they envision integrating CulturaGo’s resources effectively into their existing programs.
• An assessment of the need for such resources amongst the student or participant body the applicants represent or serve.

What are these conditions?

By taking part in the CulturaGo Summer Grant 2024, you agree to the following: 

• It is your responsibility to introduce the CulturaGo courses to your students or users at least 2 weeks prior to the start of their program or course. 
• It is your responsibility to remind your students or users of the opportunity to enroll and engage in the courses on 2 occasions: once ~7 days before the start of their program or course, and once within 2 weeks of the start. 
• Your organization will be publicly acknowledged by CulturaGo as a recipient of the Grant, and will promote its participation via engagement through your organization’s official website, blog and social media channels. 
• You and/or your faculty agree to provide feedback to CulturaGo via a short survey, as well as a 30-minute online 1-on-1 interview.
