In this blog post, we will share the key points of the webinar and a video recording for you to watch and share with your colleagues and others who may benefit from the content.

Let’s dive in!

Essential Points and Expert Tips from CulturaGo’s First Webinar

Our first webinar was held by CulturaGo Partnership and Learning Innovation Manager, Ebony Ellis. Ebony is a highly accomplished international expert with extensive experience in facilitating cultural understanding and inclusivity in educational environments worldwide. Her achievements and experiences made her the perfect host for our inaugural webinar on intercultural and DEI strategies in support of students’ well-being abroad.

The webinar emphasizes the need for diversity, equity and inclusion in intercultural education to enhance students’ well-being abroad. By integrating effective intercultural and DEI strategies into the pre-departure cultural preparation process, students can acquire crucial social and emotional skills, adaptability, cultural understanding and a sense of belonging to a global community - crucial elements of a positive and fulfilling experience abroad.

Ebony’s aim is to encourage international educators and program coordinators to reflect on their role in shaping students’ international experiences. Active listening is essential in establishing a wellness-focused environment where students feel safe and heard. Inquiry-based learning and self-reflection are effective tools for promoting students’ critical thinking abilities and self-discovery, which they can apply to translate their overseas experiences into their academic or professional endeavors.

Whether you are an educator looking to enhance your intercultural skills or a study-abroad program coordinator interested in promoting DEI in international education, we believe this webinar can offer you precious insights and inspiration on how to support your students and create a more inclusive and welcoming environment for all. We have recorded the entire session for you to watch - check it out above and feel free to share it with colleagues or anyone else who may benefit from its content.
